The Future Champions Program – How
does it work ?
In 2006 The Elmore Oil Company officially launched the Future Champions Program, to assist the development of aspiring young Australian athletes. Targeting athletes in the 12 – 25 age bracket and with very simple qualifying criteria, Aussie kids can obtain financial grants to assist with travel, high level coaching, purchase of equipment or access to competitions in their chosen field.
The Elmore Oil Company then partnered with one of Australias most respected non-profit organisations, The Smith Family, to increase opportunities for the disadvantaged young people it supports, enabling them to access funding to assist with sport related expenses.
The administration and selection process will be managed by a panel appointed by The Smith Family and the program is promoted to the wider community by The Smith Family and the Elmore Oil Company.
Elmore Oil Company managing director, Mark Linford, says the company is excited about the prospects of the partnership, helping Aussie kids to reach their dreams in their chosen sporting field, as well as contributing to personal development.
“The Future Champions Program is an exciting initiative and we are thrilled to be able to help young Australians to excel in their chosen field and we are also excited about the partnership we have formed with The Smith Family as it broadens our reach in terms of providing benefits to the community.”
The Elmore Oil Company uses a number of key sporting role models to act as ambassadors for the Future Champions Program. The programs ambassadors are avid users and strong advocates of Elmore Oil Sports and all have a passion to see the growth of sport in Australia and as young Australians themselves they are keen to promote the opportunity for like minded young Australians to reach their full potential.
Program ambassadors give of their time and support for free and the list currently includes Australian Olympian, Kyle Vander Kuyp, Australian Track Cyclist, Jessica Berry, 2008 Track & Field Olympian Joel Milburn and Pro Golfer, Kris Mueck.
